Deputy Clerk – Election Recording Job Description

The Clerk’s office is seeking applications for a deputy clerk to manage elections and other duties. The general duties include the election process, maintain recorded documents and other County records; processes passport and indigent assistance applications, and assists the public; performs related work as required.

Qualified candidates must demonstrate communication and organizational skills, and familiarity with common software programs and office equipment. Attention to detail is required and demonstrate technical skills. Adams County Planning Zoning Administrator

The Planning and Zoning Administrator/Flood Plain Coordinator administers the operations of the County Planning and Zoning Department. The position is responsible for the administration of short- and long-term County planning and zoning functions, implementing the County Comprehensive Plan. As Flood Plain Coordinator, the position is responsible for floodplain management. Duties include performing technical office review of subdivision plat applications, building permits, conditional use permits, variances, and related activities as well as overseeing office procedures for issuing permits and coordinating activities with other County departments, agencies, and officials. The position requires considerable technical and legal knowledge of all current local, State, and Federal codes and effective public relations skills when dealing with adversarial situations. The position is generally supervised by the County Commission with wide latitude for independent judgment and initiative. The Planning and Zoning Administrator directly supervises the Planning and Zoning Assistant position. The principal duties of the position are performed in a public office environment.

Detention Position

Starting Salary: $16.64 to $18.18 DOE

Adams County Sheriff’s Office is currently accepting applications for the Detention Division. Deputies will ensure the basic needs of inmates are being met in a safe and controlled environment. This position will monitor all activity within the jail and respond to situations that arise. Detention officers will be responsible for ensuring the safe transport of inmates. Deputies may be exposed to violent behaviors and to verbal abuse by the inmates.

Patrol Position

Starting Salary: $18.51 to $20.23 DOE

Adams County is a community-oriented office seeking motivated, career-minded officers who will be responsible for performing a variety of duties involving the enforcement of state and local laws and ordinances. They will be required to respond to calls of service, conduct criminal and non-criminal investigations; make arrests and to perform other assigned law enforcement and public safety duties. Deputies will be required to conduct investigation of crimes, accidents, enforcing traffic regulations and perform a variety of technical and administrative tasks.
